With the UNO arena coming online, they are going to have to be extremely creative in their booking and promotion to avoid the arena being a losing proposition perpetually.

I still think there is value to having a venue of this size from a fans perspective, but if the goal is to make money off of the venue for Ralston, they may be in for tough sledding.

Arenas don't make money. They are a community asset that makes the community better by making events possible.

That is correct.

And, it can't really be disputed that we've been able to enjoy more and varied concerts and sporting events today than we ever would have dreamed of 12 years ago due to these venues.

As long as they can be utilized enough to justify their existance, aren't too much of a financial drain, and make community life better for us, I'm ok with all of them.

Obviously, they can't be a complete financial burden, or sit empty like the MAC, but that has been a total disaster.

At the end of the day, I'm ok with my slice of the pie subsidizing quality entertainment in the area.
I think for the most part the Clink, Ralston, TD, and Werner have at minimum done enough to justify their existence based on the events they provide. Some have done better financially than others, but they have all been pretty well utilized overall.

Ralston does have its work cut out for it though with the UNO arena coming online. It's going to be interesting to see if the city can support 3 arenas.

Totally agree on the arenas and stadiums being community assets.

Also having the extra ice available at Ralston has been fantastic for the area.
