| I hope that the NCAA finds the courage to do to Miami what they did to SMU, and to press the issue as long as they did against our friends in Grand Forks. Somehow, I don't think I will hold my breath on this... |

The Death Penalty would be appropriate if the charges are proven, but I'm afraid the $/revenue associated with the program and the pressure that could put on the NCAA might prevent that from happening.

| So, if Huyzegue (don't care about the spelling) ends up in prison or at minimum in discrace, I think that kinda hurts the UFL going forward. Not good. |

I'm not sure it will be anything that determines that fate of the UFL. That all hinges I think on a miracle rescue by the NFL, which is an extreme long shot.
The UFL worked in Omaha because they brought in name players and underpriced tickets. If the NFL steps in you're looking more at a developmental league (probably no more aging former stars), that will be filled with lower round draft picks and undrafted players. The early round picks are already NFL ready. Not sure that's still appealing to our fans.

Big swishing sound of an athletic department going down the toilet.
@joelemperes Zanon isn't growing a beard. Apparently when throwing your body in front of and blocking several 90mph pucks, your face sweats hair. |

Shalala can pretty much kiss her career there good bye. Probably limits her role in Dem politics as well. |

Interesting how these politicians land at the universities. Saw Ken Starr is now running Baylor and penned a meaningless essay on the conference realignment earlier this week.

It's too bad a Husker wasn't involved in this or....OH WAIT...there's one.
And before you type it...I am THRILLED that Frank Haith (Mizzou's coach formerly of Miami) is involved. This will accelerate his firing by years, and thus reducing our pathetic basketball performances down considerably. |

I was underwhelmed by the Haith hiring as well.
