Clever promotion from the Chaser's involving one of McStadium's former tenants:

Hey it's Thursday. Don't forget to put on your favorite jersey and gear up for the football season with a night full of tailgating, former Nebraska Cornhuskers, and an Omaha Nighthawks merchandise exchange at Werner Park. For every Nighthawk item brought in you get a coupon for $5.00 off a full price item in the Storm Front team store. One coupon per item and one per item bought. Former Huskers Aaron Taylor, Tony Felici, Matt Hoskinson, and 1996 Orange Bowl MVP Damon Benning are scheduled to appear for photos and autographs. Itís also a Thirsty Thursday!

BTW, we are down the final stretch and about to cross the MAGICAL 100 page threshold. I'm getting a little misty eyed.

I was at the Chaser's game yesterday. Noticed they have a new exit that leads you out to 132nd (the bridge you go over seems brand new). I assume with all of the development on the north end of the property and the new dam site coming brought this along.

Dunno. I've been directed out that way twice now from the free lot, but coming from the Southeast, I wouldn't think of taking that way in.

Yeah I came in my normal way and parked in the free lot. Don't remember seeing anyone coming from the other direction. Nice to see all the construction taking place around the ballpark.

The new entrance near the free parking is open before games. Great way to go. We went in that way both Sunday Night and Monday. It will get more popular as people learn about it but it helps traffic flow at Werner tremendously.

Crazy weekend for the Chasers. Memphis was up 4 runs with 2 outs in the 9th Sunday to clinch spot over Chasers and could not close the deal, then lost again on Monday. We were at both Chasers games Sunday and Monday, it was a playoff atmosphere. Crowd was really cheering on the Memphis/OKC scores as well.

Will be interesting how different that area looks next year for opening day with all of the construction that has now started around the ballpark.

Glad to see that the Chasers will be playing Salt Lake City in the finals. Great series against OKC. I don't follow baseball that much so was surprised to see that the team with the best record (OKC) could not have won the series at home since they only had the opportunity to play two home games (not withstanding they got swept)? Just wondering...

Not sure how they determine home field. Maybe OKC got the first two games because that way they were guaranteed 2 home games.

I went to the last 2 regular season games plus Friday night's come from behind win. They've done a real nice job getting the fans into the games. Years before people went but the atmosphere was never like it is now, even in the playoff years.

I believe they alternate every year. The American Conference gets it one year, and the Pacific the next. I'm also pretty sure that's how it works on the divisional level as well.

Omaha started the finals at home in 2011, had games 3-5 at home last year, and are starting at home again this year.

I also remember in 2011, they finished the conference finals off in game 4 in Omaha, but finished it on the road last year.

It's minor league baseball. They keep it simple and don't seem to worry about things like overall record. It's also how it used to be in MLB before the all-star game started determining home field advantage in the world series.

I found this to be a good read on the success the Storm Chasers have enjoyed on and off the field in the last 3 seasons...

After a sweeping the day night double header with a 9th inning walk-off home run in Game 2, the Omaha Storm Chasers are one win away from their second PCL Championship in three years!

Crazy finish to the season for the Chasers. Very cool to see them win another PCL Championship.

We went to Werner Park for Centris movie night on Friday. Third year they've done this where they show a movie on the big screen and you can watch from the field or seats. My kids love it. They showed Ghostbusters since it was Friday the 13th. My kids loved it.

They also handed out flyers for a for a Halloween Event at Werner Park, October 29th from 5-8 PM. I'll post a link when they get the details up on their website.

That was awesome. Dwyer was great carrying the no hitter late into the game. I got real nervous with the pinch hit home run. Then walking the tying run onto 2nd in the 9th. Was nervous with us being the road team.

Very cool watching the game on NBC Sports.

PCL and National Champs!
