I was at Fridays concert, it was pretty packed, not just thousands for sure. It's hard to judge number of people but I'd say 13-15K

I thought their concert configuration was something like 20k. If they had 13-15k, I don't know if that qualifies as packed.

And is that paid attendance or actual attendance?

You'd have to ask Live Nation that one. I know Creighton is usually pretty bad about fudging their numbers and giving paid attendance over actual.

The demolition of Rosenblatt is streaming online.

Wonder how many Dear Park residents are on their rooftops ready to jump?

I'm not sad at all. Omaha has moved on from Rosenblatt. We have 2 new stadiums. It was time. It's better than letting it rot there forever.

With several Storm Chasers games on Time Warner in Kansas City and Lincoln, and Omaha on Cox 2, you are seeimg more and more KC fans coming up to Omaha to see the prospects in person and check out Werner Park. Here's an article from a KC Royals fan site/blog. The last part of it talks about the stadium.

Article on the development around Werner. Looks like we will see some announcements in 60 days or so. The sign is already up for the Good Sam development.

They also said they would make announcements last year. I do like how Sarpy County officials are playing accounting tricks, claiming to use funds from hotel taxes so they can claim they aren't using property tax funds to pay for the boondoggle. Of course, property tax dollars are going to pay for the things that would have otherwise been funded by the hotel tax...

We shall see. The Good Sam is a done deal. I think with the big lake development things will start jumping out there soon.

The Sandlot is showing at Werner Park Friday. Sounds like Omaha is the first stop on the tour with the Director and some cast members:

lots of developments have been delayed because of the economy. now, one can question their decision to announce it when they did, but I'm confident that it'll rebound like everything else in time. Sarpy never moves that quickly. Hell, I remember the sign for Shadow Lake Town Center was there for like 5 years before shovels hit dirt.

also, the grow omaha guys were on KFAB this morning and sounded kind of perturbed at the OWH article. Said they ran the old site plan and there's a newer one. Also, they said they are in talks with grocery, stores several businesses, and should have some announcements in the next 60 days.

They seem to be the ones people go to in this area for that stuff. So, I wouldn't discount them now.

I do remember the promises over and over on the not using Omaha's general fund/property taxes for the Qwest/Clink and that went out the window. So far Sarpy is doing better than Omaha....

More baseball at Werner Park this year. The Chasers clinched the division last night with 2 weeks to go.

Supposedly they are going to implode the press box at Rosenblatt tomorrow morning (Wednesday). The grandstand underneath it is already gone.

Hopefully it's going to be televised.

I took my boys to the zoo on Friday and saw where the grandstand was gone. Looked really weird.

On the demoliton, the sooner the better now.

With the hours at the zoo, I don't think they could have done it much later...

Great first night of 2012 @ Werner Park. Myers with a 3 run bomb on first pitch he saw, plus a double, 2 walks and hit by pitch. Odorizzi goes 7 strong innings.

I'm going to game 2 tonight.

Congrats to the Omaha Storm Chasers beating the Albuquerque Isotopes in 5 games for the American Conference Championship. Can't wait for more baseball at Werner Park next Friday-Sunday for the PCL championship!

We are definitely going Friday night. Very cool, 2nd year in a row playing for the PCL Championship. It would be very cool to see the Chasers win the title at Werner Park.
