Anybody have a recommendation for email that's not tied to your internet provider?

GMail, as noted above, I have it scoop up mail from my other web based mail account - there is a delay if you wait for it to check on it's own, but you can 'force' it to check when ever you'd like.
"Hoff" is the nickname - "in205" used to help me find my seat
Hummm, I wonder if I can change my user name to Hoffin216?

I used to be a big Yahoo! mail believer, but about two years ago, they "upgraded" it, and it's just not a stable platform. So I switched to gmail, which is much more reliable.
Because I've used Yahoo! mail for years, so much of my stuff is tied to it. I have gmail set to periodically download everything from my Yahoo! account, but sometimes that has an hour or so delay. So occasionally I do go back into Yahoo! mail, and it hasn't really improved.
I would love to go back to Yahoo! (because I have a better e-mail address at Yahoo!), but I just can't do it.

Gmail seems like a popular choice--so long as you're OK with Google mining everything for predictive data and targeted ads.
Never drive faster than you can see.
