I realized how much you miss by not having much in the way of on campus athletic events now that football and wrestling are gone. I've only been back to the university a couple of times a year since I graduated 10 years ago, and always for football games.
The place just looks amazing. There are a couple of buildings that weren't there even 3 years ago, and so many others have been renovated beyond recognition. Made me feel proud as an alum. It feels like UNO has grown up so much in the last decade. When I biked through there, it felt like a real campus now.
Speaking of on campus sports. Maybe they've got it all figured out, but I have no idea how they are going to play soccer at Caniglia Field in August. The place is nothing but dirt, it's not leveled, and it doesn't look like they've done anything on the site in a couple of months. I'm hoping this isn't delayed and the UNO soccer teams have to spend another year at Chilli Greens.
