How does this affect Trev and UNO? Now that Trev's ringer is gone, does Trev stick around? Does Lincoln even want Trev?

Interesting times.

You don't waste $150k on a search firm if you are going to promote the guy from within. Especially in a budget crunch.

Well, Sean Callahan was wrong about this. But, he's rarely right about anything.

Trev will not be a candidate. I think he realized he was a courtesy call or fall back candidate at best. With a national search firm in play I think they are shooting higher.

We'll see. I have no qualms in saying that I think Trev Alberts would be a terrible hire for UNL. I've certainly had issues with the leadership at UNO in the Alberts era. I don't think you double down and give him the keys to one of the biggest money making institutions in the state.

I'm not going to rehash everything I've said on these boards in the past, but just look at Tuesday night. You had a legitimate crowd of 6k. You knew there was going to be a huge walkup. Yet, you have only 3 ticket takers and 2 ticket lines. Lines got so long that Trev had to make the call to let everyone in for free and then offer a rain check to those who actually paid. You took a night that should have been a nice little money making evening and turned it into a debacle. How was the crowd not predictable? How did you not have the additional football gates open? How did you not have cash only lines set up with tickets ready to buy? How did you not do online specials waiving the convenience fees or offering reduced rates to buy early online (a flash sale)?

Again, this is just another anecdotal event, but the tapestry of all of it together shows an athletic department that's still stuck in a D-II mentality from an administration, ticketing, and marketing perspective. They have flashy new toys (D-I, new arena, new soccer stadium), but at the core, they still haven't figured it out. This isn't an isolated event.

In the Husker arenas I hear Ed Stewart mentioned more than Trev.

Amen Nouse. I have been saying this for as long as I can remember. You may say you are Division 1 but your actions don't support that.

The problem with doing something right the first time is nobody understands how difficult it was.

Doubtful. David Sokol, major donor to UNL, pretty much fired a shot across the bow of the Hire Trev crowd in the Public Pulse yesterday. Also ripped into Perlman, much deserved.

My expectation is that NU is going to look for an experienced hire, as two of NU's three most visible programs may need to go new directions in the next six months. I don't think Trev is the guy NU is going to be looking for.

During press conference, he stated he is not interested in being the long term AD, he is here for up to 60 days.

Dave Rimington named interim AD...

I have a feeling if he likes the job (and they like him) it may become permanent...

Wonder if Trev take the job if he s cans the lincoln's football program too.

It is easier to criticize, than it is to do. Sit UBU Sit,
