I received my season ticket renewel letter for basketball today. In it, I was informed that I will no longer be allowed to purchase my center court upper level seats. They want to create a more intimate atmosphere and move everyone to the lower bowl. For my trouble, they are giving me the privilege of buying lower bowl seats at no adfitional cost over my previous upper bowl seats...for this year. The letter was very specific on that. So, after this year I will be forced to either move below the baseline or see the cost of comparable lower bowl seats be almost triple what I pay now. And thats if i can even get something close to center court. This ploy will ultimately force long time fans to pay more for inferior seats in the long run.

I am fuming right now. The general middle finger pointed towards the ticketholders here is not cool. UNO basketball should be an affordable value.

I agree with many of you on this. I prefer the upper bowl. Even if the price was the same for hockey, I'd still sit in the upper bowl.

Considering their terrible attendance, this will have ZERO impact on the atmosphere. If they had the attendance to fill the entire lower bowl then it would. Whether you have 1,000 people close to the floor or spread throughout an arena this size it won't change.

As far as the effect on those who choose to buy upper bowl tickets, whether for price or preference, it is a terrible move on the department's part to force you to pay more for a seat you don't prefer. Definitely voice your concern to the athletic department. Probably won't matter though.

Not because I am cheap, but because those are the seats I prefer so that I can see the offensive/defensive schemes set up.

Pretty disappointed in this move. And I highly doubt it will serve to improve atmosphere or demand.

I made my feelings known today. I think you should as well. Anyone else who is affected should too.

The process for upgrading to these new seats is broken online. You have to call in.

Nouse: The way they are handling this surprises you how? This type of behavior has been around since day 1. I wonder how intimate it will be if hundreds of people decide not to renew rather than accept the choices they are being given.

The problem with doing something right the first time is nobody understands how difficult it was.

I've always found watching basketball (much like hockey) better in the upper bowl because of the better 'overall' view you have of the whole court/ice. You can easily glance at the bench, or a little "chippyness" going on behind the play.

"Hoff" is the nickname - "in205" used to help me find my seat
Hummm, I wonder if I can change my user name to Hoffin216?
