It would be a shame.

At least they are not having to drive to Freemont then.

It will be interesting for a January opening.

Husker Hockey (Club) is playing home games at the Ice Box.
They still have one series tentatively scheduled for Breslow -- in January.

...Last night I had the strangest dream...

I just saw on their facebook page that the opening is set for December 15. Based on what I saw this weekend, they have a lot to do between now and then....

Approved by the City Council last night:

Sounds like the city will vote on it shortly:

Breslow has been approved unanimously by the NU Board of Regents. Full speed ahead finally....

Good analysis, Greg.

Here's a follow-up article from the Lincoln Journal Star on why the Pershing Auditorium wasn't considered for ice:

it'll happen. it just won't address the demand. University runs the town. they wanted the taxpayers to build them a new BB arena, they got it. now they have hijacked $7 mil that was to be used by the city and another $2 mil from the JPA and essentially have them selves an ice rink for their club teams and intramurals and broomball leagues (of which there are tons of). Moved all of them from their late nite times to prime times and basically not changes the landscape of the hockey scene in Linc one iota. It took this university ran town 7 years to get this far on a project that hasn't even broken ground, and after thier little free playpen is built it'll take another 10 years to get the 2nd sheet done. But you know it'll look nice in the brick facia..... the 1 sheet. while the economic impact in S. Falls will be tremendous as they will be able to host tournaments galore. Lincoln won't though. But the "huskers" club team will be able to entertain their 78 fans, in a nice brick 1200 or so seater. Hope with that free coin they can put in some Ralph'esque marble flooring in the hallways.

An update -- maybe it's getting closer?
